Break It Down - Lulada Club
Lulada Club
NYCAN presents BREAK IT DOWN, a night of Afro-Latin music and dance benefiting INEEDANA.COM at The Legendary SOB’s on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024.
Featuring LULADA CLUB: New York’s All Women Salsa Orchestra!
“Creating original music that responds to ongoing issues but also extends the salsa canon. Lulada’s songs are written from a woman’s perspective and establish agency in narratives traditionally from a male perspective.” – Rolling Stone
Join us for an open dance floor and a professional dance showcase curated by World Salsa Champion, Selena Tornez (IN THE HEIGHTS). Doors open at 7pm for an open-level salsa workshop complimentary with entry!
We will have community resources available including information on INeedanA.com and abortion access, voter registration, sign-up for future volunteer opportunities, and much more! If your organization is interested in participating or providing resources at BREAK IT DOWN, please contact NYCAN at nycan.chairman@gmail.com. (Limited space available.)
Join us as we support abortion access, dismantle machismo, and celebrate our rich culture.
This event is possible with the generous support of the SLB Education Foundation’s Multicultural Leaders Award.
